Description
Pretty drop silver earrings made from broken blue & white china crockery. The colours and pattern gives a fresh and clean look to the earrings that would enhance any outfit. It’s great to think that the broken plates and bowls can be transformed into a piece of jewellery for you to treasure.
This pottery was originally a Chinese dish with overall blue and white pattern, as it had seen better days, with chips and cracks it was given a new life as earrings and pendants. Pop along to my shop for other pieces of up-cycled pottery jewellery.
The earrings are fitted with handmade French style ear wires and other ear fittings are available including those for non-pierced ears, message me for details.
My makers mark is registered with the London Assay Office and any of my silver jewellery of 7.78g and over will be hallmarked.
How they are made: The broken pottery is assessed for the areas of pattern that would look best as the earrings. It is cut out using a combination of tile cutter and grinder to produce the size and shape required. A sterling silver mount is made to fit the piece of pottery and using traditional methods the silver is shaped and solder together. After sanding and polishing the silver mount the pottery is fitted, burnished in place, and after a final polish they are ready for the ear wires to be attached.
Measurements: length 2.1cm, wide 1.8cm, depth 0.5cm and overall drop from top of ear wires 3.7cm
